Close call

Last night, after leaving Lisa's place at about 10:30pm I turned onto Wynnum Road and headed towards the city. A Ford Falcon station wagon was in the left lane and moving erratically. Another car, towing a boat, was not far ahead of me. I gave the station wagon space to come over into my lane as his was about to merge into mine anyway. He suddenly sped up and crossed from his lane into mine and then into the far right lane. Then he suddenly slowed down a bit.

All of a sudden the front passenger window was wound down and a gun was pointed towards my car - and it was then fired. The other car towing the boat swerved and I slowed right down but kept moving. I didn't know if Stepanie had been hit but I didn't want to pull over for an inspection if that lunatic in the station wagon decided to have another shot.

I let him drive on and, not far ahead, he made a u-turn, and went back the way he came, violently swerving from one side of the road to the other.

Trust me to come across the only gun-totting freak on the road that night.
