First Aid Course

Yesterday I completed a two day St.John First Aid course (and passed too, 18 out of 20 on the exam). I had to do the course for work (Big Brother). I was distracted on occassions by a rather attractive female student there, about my age I think, who had nice legs. Maybe that's why I got two questions wrong.

Nothing much else happening right now, just working and saving money.

I met Herne today

He is known as Herne the Hunter (I don't know his real name) and has been around for ages. He has made a few appearances in my life but today we spoke for the first time.

He's worried that the National Forest in England won't be big enough but I told him not to worry, that it was a good project and in time it would give him plenty to do. I then asked him if he ever really did take a book from the personal library of Christopher Columbus but he assured me that that was a silly myth, he never takes anything he can't use. (He is a hunter after all).

We shared a couple of beers and then he had to be off, he said he was due to appear in a dark field while no one was looking. He said it makes the locals feel safe knowing that he is there.

I hope Herne drops by again soon.

Being crazy

This is something I don't understand and have wondered about for a long time. Again and again I hear people talking about other people and saying something like, "He's really crazy!" In conversations with people they tell me how good someone is and end with, "Oh, and she's really crazy too!" What's all this crazy stuff these days??

It's like, so and so is, "Kind, funny, intelligent...and crazy as well!" Why is it good to be crazy these days? Some people talk about all the lunatic things they have done like travel at over 200 k's an hour on a motorbike without a helmet and hanging onto a three year old child, and they are proud of it. "I'm so crazy, I'll do anything!" They tell it like it is a great story. Well then you are a complete bone-head.

Is doing absolutely stupid things like that meant to impress others? Is being crazy a 'must-have' on everyone's character CV?

I don't get it.

Big Brother

Today was my first day in my new job at Big Brother. I had to stop by Cutting Edge to pick up some tapes, then I drove down to Dreamworld and arrived about 20 minutes early. For the first week I'll be transcribing the dialogue for docos about the housemate finalists. It's a pretty dull job but necessary. Once that is done I'll be working in the control room as a story editor.

The place is amazing. At one point I had to get some cash to buy lunch but the nearest ATM was inside Dreamworld, so I was shown a secret door linking the Big Brother site with Dreamworld. In I went and had a nice wander around Dreamworld for a few minutes - I haven't been there since the 80's.

Everyone seems really nice and I like being there. I left at 6:30pm and had to return to Cutting Edge to pick up more tapes which I'll work on tomorrow.

Wise Words

This is a quote from the movie 'Casino'. Actually, it's the very first line of dialogue in the movie. I think they mean a great deal.

"When you love someone, you gotta trust them. There's no other way. You've got to give them the key to everything that's yours. Otherwise what's the point? And, for a while, I believed that's the kind of love I had."

And it happened yet again...

Hey guess what, I got dumped again! I think I must be going for some kind of record. Her name is Jade and we were together for about 2 weeks. She told me she loved me (bit of a danger sign that, so early on) and then she decided that she doesn't want to be with anyone now, which of course means me.

It's getting kind funny now. All these seemingly sincere and honest women turn out to be either deluding themselves or they are just liars. Whatever the case, I'm going to take a break for a while and take care of me and what I'm doing.

To all the liars, nutcases, weirdos, murderers, religious fanatics etc, please don't call me. (I've had them all).
